About Clean Air World

Clean Air World is the global outreach and information portal of the National Association of Clean Air Agencies (NACAA, formerly STAPPA/ALAPCO). While NACAA concentrates primarily on air quality issues in the United States, Clean Air World has an international focus with regard to air pollution topics.

Clean Air World contains world-wide listings of all available state and local air-pollution agency contacts and information on a wide range of environmental topics related to all aspects of air pollution. Please contact us if you would like to provide an agency contact or suggest an Air Pollution Topic link.

The average fuel efficiency of cars in the U.S. today is 20 miles/gallon. A car that gets 20 mpg produces 6 tons of CO2 each year. If we improve fuel efficiency by 20% (24 mpg), we save one ton of CO2 per car. With more than 230 million registered vehicles in the U.S., that's a savings of over 230 million tons of CO2 annually!
